Lizanne Handmade Pottery

There is something about this butter dish that I couldn’t resist when I spotted it at the Potters Place Studio Sale last night.  Perhaps it’s not only the nod to Celtic knot work and the marriage of practicality to beauty, but more so that it was made by hand with care and skill, from master Irish potter, Lizanne Donegan.  Her work is earthy, but pretty, functional and artful.  She is my pottery teacher of late and I thoroughly enjoy every moment of my classes with her even if I have some not so desired outcomes as I work my way through the ceramics learning curve.

Looking forward to a bit of butter from this dish atop a warm, freshly baked scone.  Now doesn’t that sound good?
