Brahms Mount Textiles-Maine

Do you know of Brahms Mount’s sumptuous textiles?  Ah. Well, you must consider a visit to their lovely shop in Freeport, Maine.  Housed in an antique colonial home on Main Street, just beyond LL Bean’s flagship store, the shop offers a wide selection of their delicious blankets, throws and linens, woven in Maine, and beautifully merchandised in a simple and uncluttered manner.

The staff is welcoming and friendly which creates a bit of an oasis in the outlet frenzy that overtakes Freeport’s sidewalks on any given summer weekend.

While visiting the shop recently I spotted some canvas backed photographs by Freeport photographer, Anne Ritchie, that were so full of depth that the images appeared to be tactile.  Her work is so befitting of the gorgeous Brahms Mount blankets and throws.

I imagine myself in a little house on the Maine coast sipping tea, wrapped in one of these blankets gazing at the sea.  Sounds perfect, no?
