Windsor Chairmakers-Lincolnville, Maine

More noodling about mid-coast Maine brought me to Windsor Chairmakers on Route 1 in Lincolnville just a few weeks ago.  The showroom is a rambling, antique farmhouse full of not only beautiful Windsor and Shaker furniture, but also handsome farmhouse beds and stunning casegoods such as highboys and tall chests.  Every piece is built to order with a keen attention to details and skilled craftsmanship.

Nance Brown, one of the proprietors was so low-key and friendly, allowing me to just wander about to appreciate their work in a home-like setting.  The property itself is quite nice with a wonderful, shingled workshop out back.

Great stop- bring your room dimensions as I bet you will find it hard to resist ordering a piece of Maine-made heirloom quality, furniture excellence.
