On Memorial Day after working   most of the morning in my garden I went on one of my best summer starter trips to South County, Rhode Island.   I can hop in the car on short notice and in little over an hour be in coastal

Last fall I went a little crazy sculpting out a long rectangular planting bed around two Sargent crabapple trees, putting in 50 dwarf boxwoods, tons of irises and nepeta. Today the fruits of my labor are showing. Despite the heavy downpours it looks so good

On the whole I prefer very little artwork hanging on the walls in dining rooms, bedrooms and kitchens.  I find that it takes away from a sense of calm.  So, it leaves a fair amount of accumulated pieces that need a place to hang.  I

In updating a 1960’s kitchen I found a void in the wall where the kitchen hearth backs up to the living room fireplace.  I knocked out a hole in the wall and designed a built in Shaker style cupboard with 18″ deep upper tableware storage
